Features
  • A progression system that allows players to purchase tool upgrades and cosmetics for their persona cards, bots and even their vac-guns as they complete shifts that earn them bot coins and XP.
  • The VacGun, a core of the experience makes cleaning feel powerful. You won't just sweep up the mess; You'll blast it Boomer style! From sucking up purple goo to shooting compacted trash into the bin, every action feels dynamic and fun. We also experimented with a variety extr ,mechanics, such as the ability to suck up and shoot out objects, and the ability to use the vac-gun as a lasso to restrain bots temporarily.
  • Tidying up Boomerica's homes is all about finding a place for every item: organizing books, arranging cushions, color matching and bringing chaotic rooms back to a state of satisfying order. Every small mundane action feels rewarding. We built a variety of 'tidy zones' with colour matching mechanics, blue books go on the blue bookshelf, red cushions go on the red couch, and so on.
  • The chaotic Bots are more than just obstacles — they're living, little characters. Don't let their cuteness fool you as they have quite the temper and won't hesitate to make a mess. Give them snacks or tuck them into bed before they are able to make an even bigger mess!
Challenges

Leading Chaos Bots as my inaugural project presented a unique set of challenges. The primary hurdle was transitioning from a team member to a team leader, requiring me to balance technical responsibilities with managerial duties. To overcome this, I established clear communication channels, delegated tasks effectively, and fostered a healthy, crunch-free environment. Additionally, the project's ambitious scope necessitated innovative problem-solving and rigorous time management, in the end, the game features two gameplay worlds: the 'Hub' and the 'House', each with its own set of challenges and tasks. The Hub serves as a central location for players to gather and buy cosmetics or upgrades for their tools while the House is where the majority of the gameplay takes place. We also wanted to ensure that the game was highly replayable, so we implemented a ton of house variants and a variety of tasks to keep players engaged.
